The first step towards Blackjack fanboyism

If you’ve never played blackjack in a casino before, it may seem intimidating especially if you’re new to the game. But fear not! The game is pretty simple, and if you and a group of friends sit together at a table it will take away some of your uneasiness. Here’s a quick intro to the game so you’ll know what to expect.
When the game begins the dealer will give each player and himself 2 cards. The point values for the cards are as follows: 2-9 are worth their face value; jacks, queens and kings are worth 10; aces are worth either 11 or 1, whichever works best for your particular hand. The best hand possible in this game is blackjack, which consists of a jack and an ace.

On your turn you will have the option to either “hit” (recieve another card) or “stand” (keep your hand as it is). If you decide to hit, the goal is to get your total points as close to 21 without going over. But be careful; if you go over you’ve “busted” and you lose. Once all players have taken their turns, the dealer will take theirs. Something to keep in mind for strategical purposes is that the dealer must stay once his hand reaches 17.

Good luck! This is how all blackjack fanboys have started. You’ll find yourself to get hooked on the game more than you thought you ever would be. Just make sure to keep a clear line between fanboyism and addiction.
